Review: 2018 Zuccardi Q

I've been told that the Zuccardi Serie A line is sourced from the best of the best they have to offer, which does not bode well, prejudging here, for a line that emphasizes the letter Q. There's a lot of wiggle room between those two letters.

Here's a quick update from two minutes and one google search ago: The Q stands for "Quality", which sounds like an advertising campaign from a Detroit auto company from the 80s. But it's well-intentioned.

Looking at the tech sheet, it looks like this is 100% sourced from Uco, more specifically: Altamira and Chacayes. This is promising, as the last two Altamira area bottles were cracking.

And here's another quick update from after 30 minutes of resting in the glass: it's quite good. No oak influence so there's a dominant trait of dark fruit (plum, blackberry) throughout with a hint of spice and minerality. A nice level of acidity, and structured tannins. A well-balanced bottle at a more than reasonable price point. Pick up two and let one rest for a year. You're welcome.
