Review: Barefoot Malbec

Barefoot Malbec

We have hit the floor. It's too easy to dunk on something that is accessible both on scale and price. and it's too easy to comment on the quality here because you're paying for what you get. If you think for one second that Barefoot can rival some of Mendoza's finest, if you have that sort of expectation, then I simply cannot help you. You've gone about as far as you can go. Try vodka.

That said, there's nothing remarkable or offensive either way here. Decent construction with black cherry, plum, and a bit of spice throughout. Licorice vine and mild vanilla on the back of the palate provide an unexpected twist. A bit of acidity but nothing too out of balance. The finish is short but keeps in check with what you experience on the nose and the palate.

For the price, it's not the worst and it's fairly easy to enjoy. Quit being a biter.
