Our examination into budget Malbecs this week continues with this $9 bottle from Total Wine. Fairly certain this may be one of their private lines.
Very unsure about this one. Trying not to harshen the vibe around these parts by going negative. A classic Malbec construction with notes of plum and blackberry that somehow shifts into a diluted cranberry punch with a short finish full of vanilla sweetness and high amount of tannins. Not much going on here to speak on favorably, but at $9 it may be a good bottle to bring over to a friend's house when they have burgers going on the grill.
There are much more favorable bottles out there at this price point. Not recommended.
