Review: 2020 Argento Minimalista Malbec

Budget week carries on with a series of mini-reviews.

I like all things minimal. Minimalism is one of my favorite things. Give me a Robert Ryman painting, or a Richard Chartier sound sculpture while I sit in a highly considered living room on a nice stereo. Bring me a book on sans serif typography and I'm all good. Snobbish? Absolutely. No apologies here. I am well aware of who I am. But this isn't about that. This is about Argento's Minimalista line. It's from Argento. It's from Mendoza. This ought to go well.

And it does. It's thick with notes of dark chocolate, and black fruit that's medium-bodied. There's some violet and a touch of lavender on the back of the palate and has quite a hefty dose of tannins on the lengthy finish. There's absolutely no reason to keep this one around anywhere. Just drink it immediately so it won't clutter up your highly considered wine rack of essentials.
