Review: 2018 Ben Marco Malbec

Either you’re one of the types who will read on, wring your hands and angrily furnish a response in the comments section or you’ll read on, finish the final thought and then move on with your day unaffected by the prose. You’re right and we’re all right and we all win, no matter the outcome of your decision.

As someone who spends minimal time (I’m sure it shows) trying to piece together a sweeping romantic narrative about anything, I would like to say that this Ben Marco is one of the better things I’ve had from Susana Balbo’s winery in quite some time. If you’re not hip to Ms. Balbo, here’s a primer.
This Uco Valley number is almost evenly balanced between fruit and floral. A little bit of blackberry and tobacco leaf on the palate with a medium finish. Dry and not too overly acidic. The tobacco note lingering about near the end was most welcome.

I will keep providing unedited notes if you promise to keep drinking along. Don’t break the chain.
