In the last two years, I have totally spaced on just how good Luca Old Vine can be more times than you've probably tried a glass. I will gladly take a few moments to pay tribute (I don't have social media up and running) to the amazing experience this bottle has to offer from start to finish, especially as we opened one up for Mother's Day this last weekend. They're not always up for it from label to label, but when Catena wants to put on a show, they certainly know how to bring their best game. Make no doubt about it: when this is flowing Old Vine is, in its own unassuming way, every bit as delightful as some of its higher-end lines. It's just enough to leave the audience wanting more.
And maybe that's part of their longevity and success?
