Review: 2019 La Posta Paulucci Malbec

2019 La Posta Paulucci Malbec

Taste is subjective and that’s the whole point. It’s also why we are both right and wrong at the same time no matter what words we put down. But I am a sucker for what I perceive to be a well-designed bottle and La Posta checks that box. The art deco on each of their expressions is lovely to look at, and we usually keep them around long after consumption. It’s also another Catena extension, so you know what’s inside will be equally as pleasing.

I’m never sure about taglines like “find your passion” like it’s some sort of order being barked at me from the company, but all things aside it’s what’s on the inside which counts. Like a good run from the Warriors, this is harmonious and a bit understated showing notes of cherry, blackberry and plum percolating all the way through from nose to palate. There’s a nice blend of spice, cherry cola and caramel on the finish. Time in the glass gives this wine space to develop. Easily drinkable and worth seeking out.
