Review: 2015 Tikal Amorio Malbec

In a bit of a funk today. Rain has been pouring outdoors, the absence of sun and diminished temperatures usually get me excited for the arrival of autumn, but the deficiency of vitamin D is noticeable. NBA and NHL seasons are full speed, and I’m looking forward to catching some matches not on the pitch. Always good to cleanse the palate after an overdose of EPL indulgences.

Full confession: up until this point the only Tikal I’ve ever endorsed was spelled with a “C” instead of a “K” and featured Method Man. Like Method, this wine boasts some weight and power, with a full bodied, smoky profile full of plum and blackberry. Well-balanced with tannins rising and falling during a long and lengthy finish. Not be trifled with, and let it settle for about an hour. Watch your step, kid.
